French Polishing A Macassar Ebony Piano
It is a rare treat to completely French polish a piano (they are now normally sprayed) and to be able to work on a piece as beautiful as this was wonderful.
The piano was completely dismantled then polished from the bare veneer up to a full gloss finish. It’s matching stool was given the same treatment and all the metal parts were replated. My most vivid memory of this job was re-assembling it - I new that just one scratch would set the job back by a least a week.
