Hardwick Hall is not far from the Peak District and owned by the National Trust. It is the home to Elizabethan and later furniture and some fine tapestries.
Waddesdon Manor has a collection of French antique furniture including pieces which were originally made fro the French Royal family. It is near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire and owned by the National Trust.
